I was a long holdout for buying bottled water. I'd decided that the "poisons" in tap water outweighed the environmental impact of a couple (million) more plastic bottles.
What finally changed my mind was the report of the Double-Texas-sized island of plastic garbage floating in the Pacific Ocean between California and Hawaii. Let me repeat that - there is an island of plastic crap the size of two Texases floating in the Pacific. Because of the swirling ocean patterns, our garbage has taken a home there. Drinking bottles have their fair representation in that mass, which I shall name Plastiopolis.

So no more bottled water for me. How about you?
